LinkedinlocalBasingstoke supports Charity helping the local community.

With excitement, we donated £1000 to Citizens Advice Basingstoke from the members of the networking group, LinkedinlocalBasingstoke. Knowing how much they value help from ‘the outside world’ and, as a great supporter of their work, they were top of our supported Charity list.

LinkedinlocalBasingstoke is a group of highly skilled local business owners meeting once a month - with International visitors joining us as we moved online. It was founded by local business owners Gill Fountain of 38 Partnership, and Kerrie-Lyann Hirst in 2017 and is part of the worldwide networking group Linkedinlocal.

CAB Basingstoke has not slowed down their efforts to help our community throughout the pandemic. With staff and volunteers working from home, they are still working tirelessly to support often desperate and highly stressed members of our community in and around Basingstoke. It was gratifying to learn that our donation has gone towards handling extremely difficult callers and situations they face daily.

To date, since April Citizens Basingstoke have helped more people compared with last year 10,692 people with 20,854 different issues.

During the first peak of the pandemic Citizens Advice national data was used to support improvements to the furlough scheme, extensions to the evictions ban and short-term debt support schemes amongst others.

Graham Hatcher Citizens Advice Basingstoke CEO “We have had to adapt and work in different ways to help others who themselves are in very difficult and stressful situations. It’s very challenging, and the LinkedinlocalBasingstoke kind support for our work has really boosted our team morale.”

Thank you to our members who helped to make this possible!
